History Past

Ian Francis George Kalakaua Nash has over 45 years experience in the music industry. In 1975, Ian was inspired to learn guitar after watching Barry Gibb (The Bee Gees) performing on television. After a couple of years in school garage bands, Ian then learned to play bass and keyboards. During this time he was involved in the bands 'Blue Stratus' and 'Nash Hagarty'.

Moving On

In the 80’s, Ian played bass in 'The Reaction' before moving to Queensland and furthered his music career by teaching music, roadied and repaired guitars. After nearly a decade away from performing live, Ian played internationally for six months with deployed military musicians. On returning to Australia opportunities to play with a local band 'Flashback' allowed Ian to play with other notable musicians.

Entering 2001

Ian co-formed Gallery in 2001 and has since developed the band from playing covers to a group of session musicians supporting Nash Jingles with original progressive rock instrumental music. Gallery is based out of Kuhio Studio on the Redcliffe Peninsula in Queensland. Ian has written, recorded and produced his ten albums with more on the way.

Currently 2024

Today Ian and his wife, Honour, manage and own Nash Jingles, a multi facet music business enterprise supporting and consulting with local artists and musicians. Ian also has a strong connection with many local Redcliffe Peninsula businesses and organisations. As part of our continued growth we conduct in house guitar, bass, ukulele and music theory lessons in our Kuhio Studio.  We continue to offer a brokerage service, buy and sell new and vintage guitars and a wide range of guitar accessories.

Ian facilitates the teaching of guitar, bass, ukulele and music theory in his studio. Ian has developed his own music instructional work book for his students. The workbook covers the anatomy of the instrument, the circle of fifths, scales and modes, basic chords and many helpful tips for using capos and other accessories. Ian teaches all lessons in a friendly safe environment using modern proven teaching techniques and modern technology.

We are very proud to promote our workbook available to all our students. The instruction book covers guitar, bass and ukulele and focuses on key elements including the circle of fifths, major minor and pentatonic scales, the 8 uses of capos, chords and triads. We are now using edition 2 and a new 3rd edition is in draft form. The 3rd edition will include the existing content and new additions including modes and the CAGED method. Exciting times ahead.

Please initially contact Honour on 0466 669 347 for enquiries re price, dates and times available.  Whatever your need we teach 7 days a week and can do after hours as required.

Just give us a call and we will endeavour to do our best to help you enjoy your passion of learning guitar, bass or ukulele.  If you would like to hear from other students and how they experienced us please click HERE.

As from the 01 March 2024 our lessons will be $70.00 per hour and $35.00 per half hour.  Also some younger students prefer 40 minutes that will be $50 with a follow up via email, sms or phone call after the first week lesson;  therefore one lesson in house and communication once a week via the methods listed above.

We can also provide 2 hour lessons at request for a discounted price.

Thank you Honour
